After battling cancer, Elisabeth Sladen (63) passed away. She first appeared in Doctor Who as Sarah Jane Smith, posing as a journalist inside UNIT. From that point, she worked with Classic Doctor Who legends Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and Nicholas Courtney. She returned to her role alongside David Tennant and eventually moved onto the Sarah Jane Adventures.

I met her once, really sweet and lovely, very friendly to her fans. I have a lovely memory of meeting her in London. The news of her passing is heartbreaking, she was a talented actress and a joy to watch in the old Doctor Who and the newer series along with her own spin off.
She is going to be so very much missed, Goodbye Elizabeth and thank you for so many fond memories. My thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
